I’m not a huge fan of new year resolutions. I don’t have a lot of faith in abrupt change. Of course, there are people who can make a change cold turkey. But for most of us incremental change is the way succeed.
Onestep at a time.
Soo this New year’s Eve I’m asking you, don’t worry about the big picture, instead Focus on one thing. Make a resolution that you will pay very close attention to your mood. That’s all. Just pay close attention to your mood. Observe it. Nothing else is required.
Self-awarenessis where all intelligence begins.
Self-awarenesss is key understanding and choosing our behaviors. Most importantly, self-awareness is how we discover what and how we can change.
You might notice that you’re sad a lot, or confrontational, or frustrated. All of those observations vital to make positive path forward. Let’s stay away from judgement and massive efforts behavior change. After all, it’s taking you a long time to learn the behaviors you have today. It will take patience to change those things.
Let’sget hyper aware of our emotions… turn our attention up to an eleven.
Soo as we are on the cusp of a new year, I invite you to notice your mood. It doesn’t matter if anger is only 1% of your mood repertoire. We are going to pay attention to every part of our emotional Journey. With curiosity we will observe. We will deal with what comes next when the time is right. For now, self-awareness, at a simple level, is our goal.
